I am Siddhant Thapaliya, a Project Manager and civil engineer working in Nepal’s hydropower sector.
My professional work is centred on turning drawings and plans into functioning infrastructure. It includes hydropower civil works, construction planning, site coordination, quality control, quantity verification, contractor billing, rehabilitation, and the interfaces between civil, hydro-mechanical, and electromechanical work.
I have worked from both client and contractor perspectives. That experience informs the practical focus of this publication: what happens when engineering meets difficult ground, weather, logistics, cost, schedules, people, and accountability.
Alongside hydropower work, I provide design and construction support for reinforced-concrete buildings and steel structures with a consulting team.
What I publish
This site is an independent professional publication. I write first-hand articles about hydropower, civil engineering, construction management, Nepal’s energy sector, and lessons from project work. A separate essays section contains substantial personal writing about economics, books, society, and life.
The opinions expressed here are my own. Project examples are presented to explain engineering practice and do not disclose confidential employer or client information.
